As LIHUP, we are thrilled to inform you that our organization officially began operations on 26^th June 2023 after the launch of the LIHUP Initiative. We would like to update you on our current development as the LIHUP initiative. In collaboration with our team, we were able to develop a bursary application form and a set of criteria that would aid us in identifying potential beneficiaries. We have two types of programs for learners which will be operating in Government Institutions of learning ONLY for now. These are:

Bursary Support. This is a long-term support of over two years once funding has been secured. Currently, the identification of learners has been initiated by the program staff. The beneficiaries will be identified, screened, and confirmed to be vulnerable and in need of long-term support. The process of identification and screening will be made in various ways through our partners and key players. This identification started first in Lusaka Province.
Once Off support. This is for learners at risk of dropping out of school/college without any commitment to continuous support. The process will also be the same as for the Bursary support though it will serve as emergency support. This will also be done in partnerships with the institutions of learning and other key partners.

The proposed budget for one year for the two programs is K590,000 ($34,705.88 @K17 exchange rate)
